Guru PurnimaThe day of the full moon in Hindu calendar of Ashad month which comes in July and August is observed as a day of Guru Purnima or the Vyasa Poornima by few.

Its celebrated in the homage of people gurus and the famously it is celebrated by the contribution of great sage Vyasa, who wrote four vedas namely – Rig, Yajur, Saama and Atharva, 18 puranas, Mahabharat and Srimad Bhagavadgita.

The Guru Purnima is celebrated in a grand style at many Hindu ashrams and gurukuls where the disciples wake up early in the morning and meditate on the guidance of their gurus. Many disciples keep fast by eating one time a day and surviving only on fruits whole the day.

The Hindu and the Buddhist people who stay in this part of the world, offers chanting and rituals at some time of the day to remember their guru at least once a year.
