Public GardensThe Public Gardens is the oldest and the biggest park in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh and also serving as the important landmark of the city. Located in the heart of the city in the Nampally area, Public Garden is major attractions to children, youths and elders peoples. It’s in operation since 1937.

Public Garden is well known for its well-maintained gardens and greenish lawns. It has also got two museums inside the garden are which are of Andhra Pradesh State Archaeological Museum and the Health Museum. It has also got Jawahar Bal Bhavan where children’s are trained in Fine Arts and the Indira Gandhi auditorium can also be among the visiting places in the garden.

The events like cultural film festivals, fashion shows, ramp shows, and beauty shows are held in an open-air theater named as Lalitha Kala Thoranam. Among the other places in the garden premises we have an ancient mosque and Department of Horticulture. It has recently added a small pond which serves as an attraction place for boating.

In the year 1985, the prime minister of India, late Sri Rajiv Gandhi inaugurated new Legislative Assembly and during the recent years a huge statue of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation was added just before the entrance of the assembly doors. Mahatma Gandhi sits in a praying position and it adds to the beauty of this oldest garden.

Public garden is easily accessible via local transport. Public garden in open all the days from 6AM to 9 PM and it has an entry fee of Rs 5 per head. The museums, boating and other attractions are priced accordingly once you enter the garden. One who would like to visits this point of interest of Hyderabad can easily find it near Lal Bahadur Cricket Stadium( LB Stadium) in Nampally area of the city.
