Ujjaini Mahankali TempleThe Ujjaini Mahankali Temple located at Secunderabad is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Goddess Mahankali. It’s one of the oldest and famous temple estimated to be 200 years old. Its identified as one of the top significant temple within the twin cities.

Ujjaini Mahankali Temple was constructed in 1815 AD under the guidance of Shri Suriti Appaiah. Appaiah a resident of Secunderabad was sent to Ujjain as mason. As a devotee of Goddess Mahankali he visited the temple in Ujjain on regular basis. Offering is gratitude towards the Goddess he expressed his will to have the temple installed at Secunderabad. His will was fulfilled and a wooden deity of Goddess Kali was installed installed which was latter replaced by ‘Manikyalamma’ which was founded in the same place in 1864.

Its attracts a lot of devotees visiting the temple every day and people are seen offering prayers. The devotee comes mostly from Andhra Pradesh region and main time to visits the temple is during the events of rituals like Kolupu Ptharaju Bali, Bonalu. Ghatotsavam, Saganamputa and Rangam.

It’s quite easy to reach the temple because it is well connected by APSRTC buses and trains services. Its open from 6 Am to 10 Am in the morning and 3 Pm to 9 Pm in the evening. The closest APSRTC bus station is Kalasiguda in Ranigunj and the closest MMTS station is James Street.
