Nehru Zoological Park is a wildlife sanctuary and it’s mainly known as ‘Zoo Park’ located at 10 kms from Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. Nehru Zoological Park is the largest zoo park in India and it’s among the most three visit destinations in Hyderabad.

Nehru Zoological Park was established on 26 October 1959 and it was opened for the general public after 4 years. Nehru Zoological Park is run and maintained by Forest Department. Its was named after the first and the famous prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru. The complete zoo occupies 380 acres of land and it also has the renowned Mir Alam Tank covering 600 acres.

The biggest zoo in India has 100 species of birds, animals, and reptiles of different breeds. It also includes inherited animals like Indian rhino, tiger, panther, Indian python, orangutan, antelopes and different species of birds. The Mir Alam Tank lake is also another attraction in the Zoo as it’s the home for hundreds of migratory birds. Through this lake AP Tourism board has introduced different types of boating rides.



The Zoo Park also includes several safari trips daily, children train and a museum inside. It operates from 8 Am to 5.30 PM and it’s closed on Monday. The prices for children is Rs 10, Rs 20 for adults, Rs 200 for Cars and Jeeps, Rs 20 for camera photography, Rs 5 for train rides for children, Rs 15 for train ride for adults, Rs 10 for elephant ride & Rs 25 for safari ride.
