Rajiv Gandhi Park is a small park located in NGO’s colony area of Hyderabad, India. Its spread over an area of 5.5 acres and its serves a close to nature for the people who are living in the near vicinity. The park is so named after the late Prime Minister of India Mr. Rajiv Gandhi. It was inaugurated on 30 September 2007 by Lt. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
The NGO’s colony is Hyderabad was one among the largest colonial area in India. This area is located a little far away front the city center when constructed but it now falls in Hyderabad city region and as a #1 colonies in Hyderabad it has got a lot of parks, facilities as it was built in a well-planned manner.
It has a dedicated area for children’s play and it includes recreational facilities A to B climber, Rocket Elephant, Climber, SeeSaw, Kinder garden, SS Slide, Merry Go Round, Jungle Jim and Swing. To the end of the park there is canteen located where you can get snacks to eat in the park. The park is HMDA approved and the park is neat and clean which is the best thing about this park. It has also got one open air auditorium for cultural shows and live events with small people gatherings.
Rajiv Gandhi Park Timings
With an entry fee of Rs 5 per head you can enjoy the lawns, greenery and play time for children’s. It is open from 9.30 Am to 12 Pm in the morning and from 4 Pm to 8 Pm in the evening on weekdays. On Sunday it’s open from 9 Am to 12 Pm in the morning and from 3 Pm to 8.30 Pm in the evening. You can get a daily walker pass for Rs 50 per month of Rs 300 per year.
It’s located very close to Nagarjuna Sagar Road connecting LB Nagar to Hastinapur and further till Ibrahimpatnam. From LB Nagar X Road its just 3 km drive away. According to HMDA its generates Rs 2 to 2.5 lac revenue per annum.
To sum it up, Rajiv Gandhi Park is the perfect evening walk or time spent park to enjoy a lovely evening. Mostly you would find people from the near vicinity visiting this park. It receives a large number of gatherings during the weekends especially on Sunday.
