Transport is the mean of communication by which we connect with other cities and places. There exists various modes of transport in Hyderabad and following are some of them –

Hyderabad AirportAirways

The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport located at Shamshabad serves as a connecting point by airways to international locations and other major cities in India. The Hyderabad Airport is ranked as one of the best airport in the world serving more than 20 million passengers. No doubt that its the best airport in India.

Connecting with the airport to the city are the three major wide roads in the form of expressways. The Hyderabad Elevated Expressway is 12 kms long and provides dedicated high speed travel to airport. The Nehru Outer Ring Road and National Highway No 7 are the road which connects Airport to the city.

Rail

Through Nizam’s, Hyderabad was among the first few cities to get connected by rail. The Secunderabad Railway station is the headquarters of South Central Railways zone under Indian Railways. Other major railway stations in Hyderabad are Hyderabad Deccan Station and Kacheguda Railway station. Seeing the increase in traffic, MMTS was introduced which connects major parts of the cities and its now serving 3 lacs passengers per day.

Also the Hyderabad Metro project is under construction which would provide point to point train link.

Road

Hyderabad city is very well connected by Roadways. The National Highway 9 and National highway 7 passes through the city. To curb the city population the outer ring road is being constructed to encircle Hyderabad and to provide a easy bypass link for passers coming from other cities.

Andhra Pradesh state is very well connected with Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) as the public mode of transport and operates more than 25,000 transport buses within the city and rest of India. This has brought the name in the Guinness World Records published in 2005 with a estimated 13 million passengers per day. The Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station and Jubilee bus station are the major stations in Hyderabad.

Apart from that the yellow colored auto rickshaw are always available 24 hours which serves as the widely available transport service in the city.
